Mind Console; The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

Video games have always received bad reputation, no matter how many credible evidence have dispute the constant stereotype myths about them. However, with this in depth research on finding video game posters good and bad, it's become clear on why video games are constantly being negatively stereotyped.

This  poster is an advertising for a pinball game for xbox. By looking at this cover who would be able to guess this was a pinball games? The over sexualized female bodies on the cover standing on a poorly designed pinball table.

Nintendo has had a pretty good reputation when it comes to their advertising for their video game systems. However, with this ad I'm not sure what exactly they are trying to advertise. Why would I keep my game boy within my pants if it's meant to be played. I guess they were trying to show how convenient the game boy can be that it could just easily slip into your pocket. It's also does not make sense that the model is half naked promoting this game that is rated for everyone to use.
Did the marketing team even try?  This seems rushed as if the team had a tight dead line to promote this game. If it's named Ghost House, I expected a really spooky haunted mansion to be in the background of this advertisement poster and for graphics besides bats to be in the poster. They could even had edited the persons hand to have rotting flesh to promote this game and this poster wouldn't be deemed as so bad or poorly done.
The marking team for this advertisement poster didn't try here either. If someone is skateboarding, I highly doubt they will be in such restricted clothing or in all that protective gear besides a helmet.
This ad, was just the definition of lazy. I'm not even sure what's going on. I also doubt that a 3 year old will understand the concept of deal or no deal but maybe that's just me.

In all of the poor or bad video game posters you can see how negative stereotypes come about.
D.C comics were always graphically impressive so it doesn't surprise me that Batman will be rated as a good poster within my eyes for this project. From the detail within the batsman logo to the texture gradient of the street the bat mobile is on to the fog on the windows of the building in the background this poster was pretty well thought out.
This poster is a good poster as well because of how detail oriented it is. From the highlight around his shield to the different facial expression on each bad guy you can tell the work that's been placed within this poster. Most importantly, this poster because of how well it wad designed can give me an insight or an idea of what the video game is going to be about.
Classic Pac-Man, this poster was well done because of how it was well designed I can hear the theme while looking at this poster. The spelling of the sound effects within the Pac-Man was brilliant. I also enjoy the fact that it had one focus.
Mario Kart will always be a classic. I admire how colorful this poster is and
how they were able to get the car to have a floss finish.

Throughout the years Grand Theft Auto (GTA) has gotten better with their graphic designs on their posters. It's become more detail oriented. Although this is a well designed poster this also falls into the reasons why people negative stereotype video games.
